Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of this website and the services described on it, operated by The Icon (Abuja, Nigeria). By using this site, booking a consultation, registering for the Mentee Portal, or purchasing anything through it, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

This site describes and provides access to independent technology consulting services (including web design, CCTV consulting, and Starlink consulting), a paid mentorship program, a digital library of paid seminars and resources, and a blog. Descriptions on this site are for general guidance and do not constitute a binding quotation until confirmed directly by The Icon.

2. Bookings and Payments

Consultation bookings and digital purchases (seminars, library items, mentorship fees) are processed through a third-party payment provider (Paystack). Card and bank details are handled entirely by that provider and are never stored on this site. Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira unless otherwise stated. Cancellation and rescheduling of confirmed bookings can be done from the link in your booking confirmation email, subject to availability.

3. The Mentee Portal

Access to the Mentee Portal (directory, group chat, forum, private messaging, announcements) is granted only after an application is reviewed and approved. Portal members are expected to communicate respectfully with other members and with The Icon. Content that is abusive, harassing, or unrelated to the program may be removed, and a member account may be suspended, at the discretion of The Icon. Any member can report a message for review; The Icon reviews and clears reports.

4. User Content

Testimonials, blog comments, forum posts, and chat messages you submit remain yours, but by submitting them you grant The Icon a non-exclusive license to display them on this site (and, for approved testimonials, elsewhere in marketing for the business) unless you request removal.

5. Intellectual Property

The site design, branding, and original written content belong to The Icon unless stated otherwise. Digital library seminars and materials are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only and may not be redistributed or resold.

6. Third-Party Services

This site uses Paystack for payment processing and may use a Telegram-based internal notification system and an AI-assisted chat concierge (currently powered by a third-party language-model API) to answer general questions. Messages you send to the concierge chat are processed by that third-party provider to generate a response.

7. Limitation of Liability

Services and information on this site are provided on an as-is basis. The Icon is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site, to the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time; the date of the most recent update is shown by the version of this page currently published. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
