Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and how it is handled, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023. It covers this website only.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact form submissions: name, email, and message.
- Newsletter signups: email address.
- Bookings and digital purchases: name, email, phone number, and payment confirmation from our payment provider (we do not receive or store your card details).
- Mentee Portal registration: name, email, and whatever optional profile fields you choose to fill in (for example WhatsApp number, affiliation, location, LinkedIn URL, job title, or program goals) — which fields are collected can change over time as the program evolves.
- Testimonials and blog comments you choose to submit, including an optional photo.
- Basic, privacy-conscious usage analytics (pages viewed, general traffic source), collected on our own server rather than through a third-party analytics script, and not linked to your name or email.
2. How We Use It
To respond to enquiries, process bookings and purchases, provide access to the Mentee Portal and paid content you have purchased, send newsletter updates you have opted into, and improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns.
3. Who We Share It With
Payment details are processed directly by Paystack under its own privacy policy. If you use the AI chat concierge on this site, the text of your messages is sent to a third-party language-model provider in order to generate a reply. Internal notifications about new bookings, messages, or submissions may be relayed to The Icon through a private Telegram bot; this does not expose your data publicly. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
4. Cookies and Sessions
This site uses a session cookie to keep you logged in (admin or Mentee Portal) and to protect forms against forgery — this is functionally necessary and cannot be disabled while still using those features. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
5. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, mentee records for the duration of program involvement and a reasonable period after, and contact messages until they are no longer relevant.
6. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can ask to see what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time (every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link). To make any of these requests, use the contact page.
7. Children
This site and its services are intended for adults. The Mentee Portal and paid services are not knowingly offered to children without a parent or guardian involved.
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time; the version currently published on this page is the one in effect.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through the contact page.
